Get a Library Card

What You Need

Your library membership and card are FREE with:

  • A government-issued photo ID with a current address OR
  • A government-issued ID and proof of local residence (e.g., utilities bill, PO Box confirmation)

If you are ineligible for library membership and do not have an active BC library card from your home community (BC One card), please ask us about Temporary or Non-resident memberships.

Personal Information Collection Notice

Your personal information is collected by Fort St. James Public Library under the authority of BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act s. 26 and the BC Library Act, for the purpose of administering your library registration and providing you library services.

The personal information we collect includes your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.

Library Member Responsibilities

You may borrow up to ten items at a time, three of which can be DVDs.

You are responsible for returning materials borrowed on your card and for fines due to lost or damaged items.

If you lose your library card, please contact the library and we will place an alert on your account. Replacement cards are $5.

It is important for us to maintain accurate information on your account. If your personal information changes, please contact the library and we’ll update your account.

PINs and passwords are private to you. You can change your PIN or password by logging into to your account and clicking on the “Account Preferences” tab.
