Out of concern for the health of the public, our patrons, and our staff, the Fort St. James Public Library will be closed indefinitely as of Wednesday, March 18 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
During this time, overdue fees and other library bills will be suspended so that patrons are not charged for materials they cannot return. All due dates have been extended to June 2nd, 2020. Should the library remain closed after this time, the due date will be extended again. Please do not worry about returning your materials to the drop box during this closure, we do not want anyone going outside if they are at risk.
Any material placed on hold will be set aside and we will contact all patrons who have holds. The materials will be made available once the library re-opens. ILL/ILC is on hold until the library is open.
In order to help people who do not have library cards to access our online resources, we will be granting temporary library cards over the phone and email to anyone with a Fort St. James mailing address. These cards can then be used for online resources such as RBDigital, GALE, and Library2Go.
We will also renew any expired cards over phone/email, we will just require the name your card is under.
When the library re-opens, you can pick up your physical card at the library upon providing the staff with ID.
If you do not have a card and are interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 250-966-7431 between the hours of 11:30-4:30 Tuesday – Saturday with the following information:
